Yellow Pine and the Yellow Pine Area is a special place. Thunder Mountain drove thousands to the area for one of the largest gold rushes in the country. Some of these pioneers, Henry Abstein and friends, decided to check out the Yellow Pine basin and found it would be a perfect place for a community. Over one hundred years later, descendants of Henry formed this Foundation to preserve not only Yellow Pine but the heritage of the entire area as well as help those who still live in the area stay healthy.
